Hormel Center Cut Bacon

I was one of the attorneys who filed has filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court against Hormel Corporation alleging deceptive and misleading labeling of Hormel Center Cut bacon as a lower fat alternative to Hormel’s regular bacon. The lawsuit alleges that Hormel presented Center Cut bacon as a leaner cut of bacon and charged a premium price for Center Cut bacon when much of the lower fat content was attributable to the fact that Hormel was using a smaller serving size when calculating the fat content in a serving of Center Cut bacon..

Coinbase Bungled Cryptocurrency Rollout

I was one of the attorneys in the class action brought against Coinbase, Inc. in U.S. District Court involving Coinbase’s launch of trading services for the digital currency, Bitcoin Cash. The lawsuit, brought on behalf of investors who suffered losses during the launch, alleged that insider trading, Coinbase’s misleading statements, and its negligent handling of the launch resulted in investor losses.

Breach of Confidential Data by Insurance Companies

I was the lead attorney representing plaintiffs in their appeal before California Court of Appeals involving the unauthorized copying of attorney client files by several insurance companies. The lawsuit alleged that defendant insurance companies had allowed their agents to hack into the confidential client files of attorneys representing insurance claimants against them in order to gain an unfair advantage in litigation they had against the claimants. The case involved novel issues of law including whether a trespass to chattel claim can be brought against defendants for the hacking of nontangible assets under California Supreme Court’s holdings in Intel Corp. v. Hamidi, 30 Cal.4th 1342 (2003) and whether individual claimants had standing to bring claims for the breach of their attorneys’ files.
